Hostinger vs Bluehost 2024 at a Glance

If you’re running out of time, here’s is a short summation of the original piece.

Bluehost vs Hostinger

Both Hostinger and Bluehost are reliable web hosts which you can trust without thinking twice. Having said that, if you want a better product line, unlimited resources, and instant support, Bluehost is a winner. On the other side, Hostinger (with a wide range of data centers, automated backup, and 4.4 Trustpilot Score) is a perfect choice for those who are looking for quality hosting services within a limited budget.

Hostinger vs Bluehost Detailed Analysis 2024

Hereby, presenting you with a detailed comparison review of two known web hosts Bluehost and Hostinger.

Criteria #1: Product Range

Before we get into the detailed features, pricing, performance, and all, first let’s have a look at the web hosting services offered by these two web hosting providers.

Bluehost Web Hosting Services

Bluehost is one of the oldest web hosts around us and got you covered with a wide range of hosting types which are as follow;

  • Shared Hosting (easiest and most economical)
  • WordPress Hosting (fast and secure)
  • Managed WordPress (dynamic scalability, security, speed, and support)
  • WooCommerce Hosting (start selling with confidence)
  • VPS Hosting (flexibility and control)
  • Dedicated Servers (ultimate in speed, flexibility, and control)

Apart from these, you would also find Reseller Hosting listed on the Bluehost website but it is actually from the house ResellerClub.

So, whether you’re a beginner or an existing one seeking powerful hosting options, Bluehost can be considered a one-stop solution.

Hostinger Web Hosting Services

As compared to the Bluehost, Hostinger has the below-mentioned web hosting services you can choose from;

  • Shared Web Hosting (best suited for small to medium blogs & websites)
  • WordPress Hosting (optimized solution for WordPress websites)
  • VPS Hosting (your own dedicated server, but virtual)
  • Cloud Hosting (faster, stronger, and dedicated for large scale projects)

In addition to these, at Hostinger, you can also buy Minecraft (an adventure video game) Server Hosting.

Which one to opt-in based on the range of hosting types offered?

Bluehost additionally facilitates you with Managed WordPress, WooCommerce, and Dedicated Hosting whereas Hostinger has the Cloud Hosting option for large-scale projects.

So, you can choose one accordingly. If you’re specifically looking for shared hosting, then you should explore all the aspects to come to a conclusion.

But, if we consider the hosting types and packages, Bluehost has an edge over Hostinger.

Winner: Bluehost

Criteria #2: Pricing

Both Bluehost and Hostinger offer a range of affordable plans.

But, if we have a close look at the prices of these two, Bluehost services start from $2.95/mo while Hostinger is available at rates this low — just $1.79/month — can make a big difference.

So, let’s check out their pricing in detail.

Bluehost Pricing

First, let’s have a quick look at the starting price of all the hosting types offered by Bluehost.

All the prices mentioned above are for the 36 months term. So, if you choose the shorter term length, you will be charged way more than these prices.

Here’s how much these plans will cost you depending on a 12-month, 24-month, or 36-month contract.

For Hostinger shared hosting plans, you will get three choices to choose from which are highlighted in the picture below;

In contrast to Bluehost, Hostinger offers four payment options (Monthly, 12 Months, 24 Months, and 48 Months) being monthly plan ($4.99 Setup fee) is the most expensive.

Like Bluehost, these pricing work out only if you opt-in for the longer contract – 48 months.

Here are the complete details of how much you have to pay for these plans depending on the contract you sign up for.

Plan48 Months24 Months12 Months1 MonthLink
Single$1.39/mo$1.99/mo$2.99/mo$9.49/moGrab Now

Again, all pricing is applicable for the first-time purchase only.

Important: Don’t forget to use Hostinger Coupon Code 2024 “BBSHARED10” to save additional 10% on shared plans.

Which one to opt-in based on the pricing?

There’s a clear huge gap between the pricing of these two. Even if we consider the renewal pricing of Hostinger, it is way cheaper than the Bluehost.

Hence, if you’re more concerned about the pricing factor when it comes to choosing the right web host for you, Hostinger is your best bet.

Winner: Hostinger

Criteria #3: Feature Comparison

Bluehost and Hostinger shared hosting plans are included with a range of impressive features and tools that are sufficient for your online success.

But still, it’s worth digging into the features offered by these web hosting providers.

Bluehost Features

Bluehost shared plans have plenty of features to offer you, particularly ‘unlimited resources’ which is worth mentioning here that are available on all plans except the Basic package.

This means you are allowed to host unlimited websites with unlimited storage and bandwidth, thus an ideal choice for those looking forward to hosting multiple sites.

If we specifically talk about the Basic package, it is included with:

  • 1 website
  • 50 GB SSD Storage
  • Unmetered Bandwidth
  • 5 Custom Email Accounts
  • Free Domain
  • Cloudflare CDN
  • Let’s Encrypt SSL Certificate

Hostinger Features

Though, Hostinger shared plans are feature-rich but still in comparison to Bluehost they are limited.

Unlike Bluehost, a free domain name is not there in the Single Shared plan and to register a new domain you will have to spend $8.99 for a year.

Furthermore, 30 GB SSD Storage, 100 GB Bandwidth, and only 1 Email Account make Hostinger’s entry-level plan comparatively weaker.

That being said, 30 GB Disk Storage and 100 GB Bandwidth are more than sufficient for newbies.

Have a quick look at the pictures below, showing disk storage and bandwidth usage of a blog hosted on Hostinger.

hostinger disk usage

hostinger bandwidth usage

Around 25 posts (having hundreds of images and videos) have been published so far but still a few MB of space and bandwidth is used so far.

Did you see that?

So, if you’re just starting out, you don’t need to bother about the storage space and bandwidth.

Which one to opt-in based on the features?

All Bluehost plans come with a free domain name and comparatively better resources.

So, keeping aside the pricing tag they are available at, Bluehost is a winner here.

Winner: Bluehost

Criteria #4: Speed Check

Apart from the features what matters the most is the performance of your site which includes speed and uptime.

A fast-loading site not only results in a better user experience but also an important SEO ranking factor after the Google Core Vitals update.

If your website speed is slow, it will eventually affect the conversion rates. On average, if your website loads in more than 3 seconds, around 40% of your visitors will abandon your site.

So, it’s important to keep an eye on the speed offered by web hosting companies.

Bluehost Speed Check

First, I took the help GTMetrix tool (which uses the latest technology to test and monitor the website performance) to analyze the speed of my blog hosted on Bluehost.

As you can see in the picture above, my website loads within 600ms and has an overall A Grade which is just amazing.

To cross-check the Bluehost speed I used one more tool Bitcatcha which is another great platform to check how fast is your website.

Not only this but you will also get the Server Response Time from the ten different locations.

Again, Bluehost did a commendable job.

Hostinger Speed Check

To analyze Hostinger’s speed, I have selected a blog which is hosted on Hostinger for the past 2 years.

First, let’s see the GTMetrix results;

This blog also loads under 1ms and resulted in A grade which is quite good.

Now, look at the Bitcatcha results;

Again, A+ performance.

Which one to opt-in based on the speed check?

All and all, both hosts resulted in satisfactory speed. So, you can choose any of these two considering other parameters.

Winner: It’s a tie.

Criteria #5: Uptime Analysis

Your website uptime is another important aspect that you should consider while choosing a web host for you.

A website that is frequently down will result in lost revenues and frustrated visitors.

Fortunately, both Bluehost and Hostinger claim to provide you 99.9% uptime.

Well, I have been tracking the uptime of both for a couple of months now. So, let’s dig into the uptime of these two web hosts right away.

Bluehost Uptime

The tool I used here is UptimeRobot which is the world’s leading uptime monitoring service.

As you can see, there’s no downtime recorded for the last 6 months.

To explore more deeply, I took the help of one another platform, HRANK that helps you find which web hosting is better based on the Uptime, Response Time, and other features.

Here are the results;

Almost, 99.9% uptime as promised by the company.

Hostinger Uptime

Based on the UptimeRobot data, there’s is 100% uptime so far.

HRANK also shows approximately 99.9% uptime which I expect from my web host.

hostinger hrank uptime

Which one to opt-in based on the speed check?

In terms of uptime, both web host performance is up to the mark. So again, you may get any web host for yourself.

Winner: It’s a tie.

Criteria #6: Data Centers

Data Center location plays a crucial role in your website speed and latency.

If your server is located far away from your target audience, all the information and data will have to pass through greater distances.

Eventually, pages will take relatively more time to load, and latency issues might arise. As a result, your visitors could get frustrated with slow speeds, which may force them to leave your site and shift to your competitor’s site with no plans of returning.

Above all, it will lead to a huge loss in revenue and business brand value.

Are you getting me?

So, it’s better to check what are the data center locations available while buying a web hosting plan for you.

Bluehost Data Center Locations

When it comes to the data center, Bluehost has only 1 data center which is located in Utah, USA.

So, for someone targeting other region’s audience, it could be a limitation.

That being said, you can always take advantage of CDN (Content Delivery Network) to deliver fast, quality web experiences to all end users irrespective of their location.

Hostinger Data Center Locations

As compared to the Bluehost, Hostinger has servers around the world.

Their servers are deployed in 7 different regions: UK, US, Brazil, Netherlands, Singapore, Indonesia, and Lithuania.

So, customers from all the continents can enjoy the lowest latency and unmatched reliability as they deploy in globally connected Tier-3 datacenters.

Which one to opt-in based on the Data Center Locations?

Undoubtedly, Hositnger is the superior choice.

Winner: Hostinger

Criteria #7: Automated Backups

You know, once your website files are deleted be it intentionally or unintentionally, there’s no way to recover them unless you have a backup.

So, having your site backups is a must to overcome accidental failures, cyber-attacks, and all.

Thus, backups are a lifesaving solution in many cases.

Now, let’s discover the backup capabilities of these two web hosts.

Bluehost Automated Backups

First thing first — Bluehost Basic package is not included with automatic backups which means you will have to manage from your end either through cPanel or using WordPress plugins.

So, for beginners, this could be a downside.

If we consider the Choice Plus plan (most popular), then your site will be protected by Free Automated Backup for the first year of hosting – Powered by CodeGuard.

This means, even if you choose the 36 months plan (most recommended), you will get free automated backups for the first 12 months only.

And If we talk about Bluehost’s high-end plan Pro then you’re covered with Fee Automated Backup for the term of the plan.

Hostinger Backups

When it comes to automated backups, Hostinger plans come in handy as they are included with weekly backups complimentary.

It does not matter which Hostinger package you choose, a data backup of your site is made every week, that lets you restore your website to a previous point in case of data loss or other issues.

And if you opt for the Business Shared plan then the daily backups facility is there which is worth $11.40.

This means daily backups of the last 7 days and weekly backups of the last 7 weeks are maintained which can be restored quickly limits the effect of website downtime.

Quick Note: Backups are kept separately from website storage for up to a month.

Which one to opt-in based on the Backups?

Hositnger is definitely one step ahead of Bluehost.

Winner: Hostinger

Criteria #8: Money-Back Guarantee

The money-back guarantee offered by web hosting providers can be considered as peace of mind for you as it privileges you to try their services risk-free.

It simply means if you don’t like their services for whatsoever reasons, you get eligible for the refund during the specified money-back period.

Well, that will not be the case with any of these hosts but still, it’s worth checking the money-back policy of these two web hosts.

Bluehost Money-back Guarantee

Bluehost has a 30-Day Hosting Money-back Guarantee.

After your purchase, anytime you feel Bluehost does not meet your needs, you can cancel your account within 30 days and a refund will be processed as follows;

  • Full refund on your hosting service (does not apply to most add-on products)
  • If your plan includes a free domain, a non-refundable domain fee of $15.99 will be deducted from your refund to ensure you will not lose your domain name
  • There will be no refunds that occur after 30 days

Hostinger Money-back Guarantee

Like Bluehost, Hostinger also facilitates you with a 30-Day Money-back Guarantee.

Based on their policy, all hosting plans (except first payment after Free Trial) are available for refund if canceled within 30 days of the date of the transaction.

Quick Note: Products purchased using cryptocurrencies, tokens, or digital assets will not be refunded.

Which one to opt-in based on the Money-back Guarantee?

Both offer 30 days money-back guarantee. So, it’s all on you.

Winner: It’s a tie.

Criteria #9: Support

Customer support is yet another important aspect that you should keep in mind while signing up for a web host because you never know which critical situations you may find yourself in, after going online.

So, if you don’t want to feel helpless in those conditions, you must check out the support given by web hosting companies.

Interestingly, both Bluehost and Hostinger got your back with 24/7/365 support. But, what are the mediums available?

Let’s find out…

If I specifically talk about Bluehost’s chat support, they’re quick enough to respond and I must say they’re doing a commendable job.

Apart from that, Blue Sky, expert WordPress help is always in your reach. But this is a paid service start from $24/mo.

Furthermore, you can take advantage of Bluehost’s professional marketing services that will help you with your design and marketing needs so you can stay focused on your business. But again, you will be charged separately.

Hostinger Customer Support

Hostinger has a team of professionals that stand by you to solve technical and non-technical issues to get your websites up and running. Anytime.

In contrast to Bluehost, phone support is missing here. But yes, chat support is available.

That being said, this chat support is not instant (until you sign up for a plan) but kind of having a conversation via emails.

Criteria #10: Ease of Use

The one thing that I want to highlight here is that Hostinger allows you to buy their services with two additional payment methods (CoinPayments and Google Pay) as compared to Bluehost’s Credit Card and PayPal which is a huge advantage.

Which one to opt-in based on the Ease of use?

For those who do not have a credit card or PayPal account, Hostinger could be an ideal choice as you can easily pay with Google Pay.

Winner: Hostinger

Criteria #11: Real User’s Experience

This is the last criteria that can definitely help you decide which web host is more reliable as all the feedbacks and ratings are curated from the real users.

So here we go…

Bluehost’s Customer Reviews (Trustpilot)

Bluehost has an average Trustscore of just 2.9 based on around 1336 reviews.

60% of users rated Bluehost services bad and 30% of people feel Bluehost services are excellent.

  1. Hi Amit,

Your comparison is great. I use Bluehost for my first website, and it’s been fantastic. However, I went for Siteground for my second site to compare performance, and both have been awesome. But for Hostinger, although I haven’t used it, many bloggers recommend it. Also, looking at user reviews, one can rightly say that Hostinger is ideal.
    Thanks for sharing!
